The government and parties in the Danish Parliament have agreed on a new, substantial military donation package to Ukraine.
The package, valued at approximately DKK 1.7 billion, ensures, among other things, 15,000 artillery shells in collaboration with the Czech Republic. Artillery ammunition, air defense, mine clearance, and drones are among the items to be financed with the new, substantial military donation package of approximately DKK 1.7 billion. This marks the 15th donation package of military equipment to Ukraine.
“The war in Ukraine enters its third year, and continued military support to Ukraine is absolutely crucial for the outcome of the war. Therefore, I am pleased that, in collaboration with close partners and with broad support from the Danish Parliament, we are now making another significant contribution to the Ukrainians on the battlefield, who are fighting not only for Ukraine’s freedom but also for the security of all of Europe,” says Minister of Foreign Affairs Lars Løkke Rasmussen.
The Ministry of Defense has, through contact with the Czech Ministry of Defense, funded the acquisition of 15,000 units of 155mm artillery ammunition, which will be delivered to Ukraine within a few months.
Additionally, equipment and ammunition for Ukraine’s air defense, mine clearance, and drones will be donated. The package includes radars, communication equipment, and drone equipment from Danish companies.
“I am pleased that so many Danish companies support Ukraine’s defense effort. I regularly speak with representatives from the Danish defense industry about how we can better utilize the business community’s knowledge and capacity regarding military donations to Ukraine. Danish-produced equipment is highly sought after by Ukraine,” says Troels Lund Poulsen.
Donation package XV is financed by the Ukraine Fund.
